Mileage: 0 (but with 650 miles of driving)
After our short time in Portland, we set off on another road trip for my good friend Lindsey’s (and Dave’s) wedding in Tahoe! Our drive took us through central Oregon where we got to stay with the Hardings for some awesome trail magic and some much needed sleep. It rained (of course) on the way, and we saw a triple rainbow!
We arrived at Homewood (very near South Lake Tahoe) just in time for the festivities. We had an awesome time seeing Lindsey’s family and friends at the rehearsal dinner and stayed in a quaint cabin a few minute’s walk from the shores of Lake Tahoe. Everything was going smoothly and felt like vacation until I had an accident and hurt my knee! I did this on the morning of the wedding while walking to a friend’s cabin. There was a creek to cross, and instead of just finding a bridge to cross it, I decided to cross on some rocks–then immediately and fell in the creek and hit my knee. You would think that someone who has been hiking for over 4 months would be pretty good at creek crossings by now, but apparently not. It swelled up really big!
I iced my knee and headed to the venue to start getting ready for the wedding! It was really fun having someone do my hair and makeup, though after not wearing makeup for a few months it felt pretty awkward.
One of the most fun parts of the wedding was hanging out with Lindsey’s bridesmaids! I hadn’t met most of them, but connected with all of them pretty quickly. They are a really great group of girls!
Anyway the wedding was fantastic and I’m so happy for Lindsey and Dave. Congrats you two! I’ll let the the pictures tell the rest of the story…
