We are about 185 miles into Washington and on schedule. The terrain has been hard but the views have been great.
We are overlooking Crystal Mountain Ski Resort right now, and hence have data coverage, but this is actually the first time we have had any data coverage in Washington so far, so I apologize for the long wait times between posts but we don’t really have any choice in the matter. Additionally we have been so busy hiking that there just isn’t much time for blogging at the moment. We’ll fill everything when we have more time and more coverage.
Additionally, please don’t send any care packages to Stehekin! The town will probably be evacuated soon due to a few enormous wildfires in the area. These fires will almost certainly affect our hike, as a large chunk of the trail is currently closed that area. The trail could open back up, but I doubt it. We’ll keep you posted. Wildfire closures are just a fact of life on the PCT, especially with the drought affecting the entire west coast these past several years.
