We’ve been hiking at the back of the pack for a couple weeks now and we have been talking about jumping around to extend our hiking season and utilize the weather the best we can. So after lots of thought we decided a plan to get from Tahoe to Portland so we could hike Washington before the weather gets cold and rainy. We rented a car in Tahoe and drove all night to Portland! We are staying at the Fulton House Bed and Breakfast in the care of our bestie Wendy! The only problem is that I’m not so sure I can go back to the trail after sleeping in these sheets! We’ve had a great couple of days seeing friends, but we’ve also been busy planning, buying, and shipping all of our food resupply for Washington. As always, it has been lots of work and endless chores as we prepare to get back on the trail, so if we didn’t see you while we were here, we will be back soon and we miss you all!
After 4 different grocery stores and a huge mess, we packed up 6 boxes of food to send ahead! It was exhausting, but hopefully it will make resupplying on the trail go smoothly for the next month.
I had a great time seeing my Portland family that I miss so much!
We had an AMAZING dinner at Jake’s as a celebration with Wendy. Thanks to everyone that helped us out with rides and car lending and our town chores. We love you all!
We are excited to be back in the Pacific Northwest and stoked for Washington! Don’t worry, when we finish Washington we are gonna go back and do the rest of California and Oregon. But for now, Washington here we come!
