We have decided that California owes us for our services as rain makers…. Seriously! Wherever we are, it rains! With this drought it has got to count for something! It’s not necessarily the rain that has made things difficult lately, but the lightning. Today the storm started in the early afternoon right when we were hiking through a very exposed section of trail. I normally don’t mind lightning when I feel like I am out of its way, but it was a little too close for comfort today so we had to hunker down for a few hours to wait it out. So while we waited I made a “fire”
When we the storm moved on and it was safe for us to keep hiking we reached our campsite which had an awesome fire ring, and after my pretend fire we decided to make a real one! Our first campfire on the PCT, can you believe it?
