After being dropped off at the Silver Lake Resort by our latest amazing trail angel Ross, we took off up the trail with tons of food. We talked about how going hungry in the Sierras left us a little traumatized and we never want to be that hungry again! So we loaded up 😁.
It was so neat to be able to walk straight from the June Lake cabin and make our way back to the PCT. It was also very pretty! I’m mentally making a list of places that friends and family would have a good time backpacking and I’ve decided that this was one of them!
I always feel so relieved and happy when we get back to the PCT after leaving it off a side trail. I think it’s partly because we have all the correct maps and apps for the PCT and I know exactly where I’m going and where I am at all times (compared to side trails and detours which are a little more convoluted), and partly because it’s my current home!
We camped just a few miles after meeting back up with the PCT at one of my favorite campsites yet. The campsite had a stream and the trees and granite slopes and a beautiful view…. It had it all! I seriously think we need a family backpacking trip in this section… Anyone want to come?
